FADCA TECHNICAL CONFERENCE APRIL 30, 2005

Sanford, Florida

(Anyone welcome- Not just for FADCA Members)

(Last modified April 22, 0700)

A full-day conference on packet, other digital modes, digital networking in Florida and ARES E-mail Over Ham Radio in Support of EMCOMMs will be held at the Seminole County EOC in Sanford on Saturday April 30, 2005.  Anyone interested in learning about or promoting amateur radio digital communications is welcomed to attend.  Those wanting to present or moderate a topic are most welcomed to submit the topic to budt@cfl.rr.com so it will be placed on the agenda (see agenda.)

The conference will be quite informal, though time-structured in order to keep discussions moving and allow ample time for all agenda items.  There will be a computer-to-large screen projector and dry erase board available.  It is suggested that presenters/moderators with MS Power Point or other computer/graphic visuals to present e-mail them in advance so they can be loaded on the computer ahead of time. (budt@cfl.rr.com)  If that is not possible, bring the data files for your presentation on a CD ROM so we’ll not have to change out computers during the conference.

To keep on schedule, lunch will be on site – catered – choice of three sandwiches with chips, sodas, water, etc. $5/person – definitely not an “all you can eat” price but you won’t be hungry.  Because of needing a head count for lunch, PLEASE advise well in advance of your attendance (See instructions after the agenda.)

Attendees will be coming from all over the state of Florida.  To take advantage of a full day, the conference will be divided into two segments, the first starting at 8AM and the second at 1030AM.  The conference will end no later than 5PM.  At 8AM there will be a hands-on workshop for “locals” who don’t have far to drive, allowing those with longer drives time to arrive before 1030AM. All attendees from where ever are welcomed to take part in the entire full-day seminar.

This is your chance to learn more details about the exciting new facets (and some old ones!) of packet radio and digital messaging.
