MINUTES OF FLORIDA AMATEUR DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATION (FADCA)
(MEETING HELD IN ORLANDO FEB 12, 2000)

Held at the Golden Corral Restaurant on West Colonial Ave.

The meeting was called to order by president Bill Sinbine, N4XEO, at 1740EDT.

Motion was made, seconded, and carried for N4XEO to remain as FADCA president.

Directorships (coordinators) for FADCA Districts 1, 4, and 8 were reported vacant.

Doug Ferrell, KD4MOJ volunteered to assume the post for District 8 (NW and Panhandle).

Motion was made, seconded, and carried that all district directors remain in their

present positions and that KD4MOJ be placed as Director for District 8.

N0IA was asked to be secretary/treasure in the event the existing office holder,

AA4RU, can no longer assume the responsibilities.

A short report was given on the Florida Repeater Council meeting that had been held

at the Orlando HamCation.

President N4XEO reported that next year FADCA should be able to hold its meeting

within the HamCation meeting.

N4KOX provided an update on the FADCA device database that is available on the home page.

N0IA and N4KOX gave updates of device and network activity in Districts 5 and 7 respectively.

Reasonable connectivity from Jacksonville to Melbourne is now available,

but will soon be improved measurably.

The Orlando ROSE switch will be re-fitted with a new 220 radio supplied

by the Orlando Amateur Radio Club, and an FPAC switch is planned for Deland.

N4SCY has interest in establishing a device in Titusville.

N0IA reported that a SEDAN device (145.77) is being planned for Sanford in

Seminole County and should be operational by March 1.

A discussion on the overall effectiveness of FADCA as a coordinating body

included a suggestion that FADCA should work more closely with the APRS and

SEDAN groups for overall coordination in the State.

Meeting was adjourned at 1830 hours.
